David Gilmour Returns Live at Pompeii 45 years later |
Both concerts will contain a set list with a few notable songs added from the original movie and will be filmed by a camera crew for a theatre screening and future DVD release.
David Gilmour Live at Pompeii is being called the must see concert of the century. The Amphitheatre of Pompeii is the oldest surviving Roman amphitheatre. It is located in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, and was buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, that also buried Pompeii itself and the neighboring town of Herculaneum. Built around 80 BC, the current amphitheatre is the earliest Roman amphitheatre known to have been built of stone.
The amphitheatre's design is seen by some modern crowd control specialists as near optimal. The amphitheatre washroom, located in the neighboring palaestra has also been cited as an inspiration for better bathroom design in modern stadiums.
